Could be to a stranger or causing distress towards friends or family. - Person making others feel uncomfortable by shouting.PERSONAL DISTRESSMay feel intensily unhappy, see themselves as inadequate and see their future as bleak. - being so unhappy you spend time crying alone.STRENGTHSA person may look like they are functioning to others but if they personally feel like they are not coping then this definition still covers this.- Makes it easier to judge whether they are failing to function adequateley according to them AO3:When an individual seeks help, it can be subjective if they are functioning adequateley. e.g someone might say they are distressed but a psychiatrist might say they are functioning.LIMITATIONsome disorders people are still able to function adequateley e.g carry on work and keep up hygiene. (e.g psyhopaths) - It means definition is not complete and it doesnt account for those functioning well but still suffer from illness.
