Biblical Hebrew Grammar (Oak Hill College)

Language/Hebrew

A Biblical Hebrew Grammar File

This deck contains a summary of basic Biblical Hebrew grammar for revision, largely following P.H. Kelley, "Biblical Hebrew: An Introductory Grammar" and supplemented by material by our former lecturer, James Robson. The deck is completely in Unicode and has been optimised for Anki 2.

Using the Deck

In order to use the tags defined in this deck, create a filtered (=dynamic) deck based on the appropriate tags, e.g.:

  • high priority cards across the whole deck:
deck:'Biblical Hebrew Grammar (Oak Hill College)' (is:new or is:due) (tag:importance_very-high)
  • high & medium priority cards related to verbs across the whole deck:
    deck:'Biblical Hebrew Grammar (Oak Hill College)' (is:new or is:due) tag:group_verbs (tag:importance_very-high or tag:importance_high)

Deck Content

The deck contains the following fields:

  1. Number - consecutive numbering
  2. Question
  3. Answer - the grammar summaries are largely given in very tight formatting, as the previous version of this file was restricted to 256 characters
  4. Group - grammatical area of the current fact
  5. Kelley - chapter in Kelley

The tags combine some of this information in order to allow easy filtering. The tag "group_" is a simplified version of the corresponding field and the tag "importance_" groups the cards into four groups of importance for a complete grammar review.

Credits

This deck includes the freely available fonts Ezra SIL, Doulos SIL and Cardo.
