Complete set of notes completely covering the Leaving Cert Physics curriculum. Includes all definitions, derivations and some equation questions (mostly to help you understand which formula to use.) This set helped me and my friend get 100% and a H1 in the LC 2024 Higher Level exam.
Notes: Does not include Optional Section on Higher Mechanics, but does include Optional Section on Particle Physics LC Exam Questions only referenced up until 2021/2022 Some cards may be similar/duplicates/messy. I will do my best to update the deck, as I have not used it since my exams and it was much more of a personal aid and project.
Hope this aids you in your LC journey! -DLR
| Front | Explain why the gold leaf on the electroscope diverges when a positively charged rod is brought close to the metal cap. The positively charged rod is held close to the electroscope and the metal cap is then earthed. Explain why the gold leaf collapses.(2005OL) |
| Back | Electrons at the bottom of the electroscope are attracted to the top due to the positive charge on the rodTherefore excess of positive charge on the bottom, including on the gold leaf. Similar charges repel therefore the gold leaf collapsesSome of the positive charges are repelled by the rod and so flow to the ground. |
