Physics O Level exam flashcards
| Front | Specific latent heat of vaporisation |
| Back | It is the energy required to convert unit mass of substance from liquid to vapour at a constant temperature |
| Front | Principle of moments |
| Back | For an object to be in equilibrium, the sum of clockwise moments about a point must be equal to the sum of anticlockwise moments about the same point |
| Front | Describe how a D.C motor experiences a turning effect |
| Back | When the current is passed through the coil, the segment of the coils perpendicular to the field, will experience equal but opposite forces. The direction of the force is obtained using the Fleming's left hand rule. The two equal but opposite forces separated by a certain distance were produce a net turning affect and the coil rotates. As soon as the coil passes the vertical position, the commutator will change contact from one carbon brush to another, reversing the direction of current in the coil. Hence the coil rotate continuously along the same direction. |
