This is a pronunciation deck I put together to help a Spanish-speaking student, but it may be of interest to any English learner who has issues differentiating between the vowel sounds /ɪ/ (hit) and /iː/ (heat). I used a list of minimal pairs from
EnglishClub.com, with some tweaks: I skipped more obscure terms or overly slangy ones (though I kept "shit" and "bitch," so beware if practicing without headphones!) and also included homophones not listed on English Club's website (e.g. peak/pique/peek). All sound files are from Forvo and are American speakers as much as is possible; the card format is taken from Gabriel Wyner's preformatted "pronunciation" card type, specifically the "minimal pair" category.
