Chinese Food and Drink

Language

I made this deck because so many people who study Chinese lack this kind of basic vocabulary when they arrive in China. I've populated this deck mainly with Chinese dishes. However, there are also some other things: common beverages in China, ingredients, a few different alcoholic beverages, some veggies and fruits, some items which are more of a category rather than an dish itself (such as a particular type of dumpling), and some miscellaneous related items (like condiments). Some of the Chinese dishes don't have English names, so the card is just the Chinese name and a picture.

Several items are probably not very useful for most people, and are only in here because they were useful for me (granola bar, quinoa, etc.), so I recommend that you skim through and delete the items that aren't worth learning for you. Which of these cards you find useful or worth learning will depend greatly on your own dietary habits and preferences. Most people learning Chinese probably don't need to know how to say "pinto beans" in Chinese, but if you are making burritos it is helpful. There are also several cards that are incomplete. I recommend that you suspend them or delete them so that your learning isn't "polluted" by incomplete cards.

I took the audio mostly from Forvo.com, and the images are just from searching Baidu Images or Google Images.
