English-German Vocabulary, Grammar and Expressions (1500 c.)

Language/English
Update - August, 2021 - 1500 cards. Wow, was this update long overdue! In any case, it's done: 500 cards added. Obviously, this is still just the beginning and there's still a lot to be done. Hopefully it won't take me nearly as much time to drop the 2000-card update. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Original description: It is high time I shared the result of over a year's worth of hard work and dedication to my studies of the German language in the hopes of lending a fellow language learner a hand with their own linguistic journey. Before going any further and delving into the finer details of this deck, I must point out that this is but the beginning - the solid foundation upon which to work, if I do say so myself - of a much bigger project, which is to say that this is and forever will be a work-in-progress (my French deck is approaching the 8000-card mark and there's no way I am done with it, so it's safe to say that this German deck is still in its infancy), and so I only ask that you treat it as such and hang in there as I gradually update it 500 cards at a time. Enough with all that introductory extravaganza for I do have a tendency to beat around the bush a bit too much. Without further ado, let us take a glance at some of the details and more objective features of this deck. This is not my first rodeo when it comes to using Anki to study foreign languages (German being the fifth and most recent one I've picked up over the years), so I know from personal experience how important it is to tackle any given language focusing on the many elements it is comprised of. For that reason, I like my decks to encompass vocabulary (which itself includes many things such as individual words, fixed expressions, popular sayings, colloquialisms, slangs, idioms and more) as well as grammar (including general observations about the language's structure and conjugation) in a contextualized fashion.  If I were to describe the average card you'll find using this deck, it'd be as follows: the entry will always be in English and the "answer" will be in German. A few cases in which the meaning and usage of the entry are self-contained (as is the case of fixed expressions and phrases) notwithstanding, all cards are provided with sample sentences in English and German (often multiple examples for the same card), pronunciation (in the form of phonetic transcription) and, in the specific case of nouns, I went the extra mile to include their plural form, since that can be quite tricky in German. It is relevant to state that I don't like to create decks which serve as a simple frequency-based vocabulary list, but rather ones that include words, expressions and grammar topics that pop up as I go along. My decks tend to be formed hand-in-hand with all the other tools I use to learn the language (podcasts, Duolingo, Memrise, Assimil, German Demystified etc.). It is a reflex and a summary of all that, so cards may appear in a seemingly random order. Well, that'll be all for now, but there's lots more to come in the future, so don't forget to check out for new updates every six months of so. Feel free to use this deck as you see fit, just don’t forget to give credit where credit is due ;). Oh, and by the way, on the off chance that you are a fellow learner of French as well, be sure to check out my 7500-card deck (you know, since I mentioned it above):  https://ankiweb.net/shared/info/2045178917 TL;DR version: this is an English-German deck which comprehends vocabulary, grammar and conjugation for learners of German. I hope it helps you as much as it has helped me.
