Deck made for NSA anatomy exam
| Text | External Features - anterior view pt 1The frontal bone (sometimes bisected by a {{c1::metopic}} suture) curves down to make the {{c2::upper margins}} of the orbits (Fig. 8.2). Medially it goes down to meet the frontal process of each {{c3::maxilla}}, between which it articulates with the {{c1::nasal}} bones. Laterally it projects down as a {{c2::zygomatic process}} to make the {{c3::frontozygomatic}} suture with the {{c1::zygomatic}} bone at the {{c2::lateral}} margin of the orbit. Note that the {{c3::frontal}} bone occupies the {{c1::upper third}} of the anterior view of the skull, the {{c2::maxillae and mandible}} making the {{c3::other two thirds}}. |

| Text | Temporal Bone pt 2The petromastoid part, in the skull base, ossifies in {{c1::cartilage}} at the middle of pregnancy. The styloid process (not skull, but {{c2::second}} pharyngeal arch) begins to ossify at the [timing] {{c1::end of pregnancy}}. The membrane parts of the bone ({{c2::squamous and tympanic}}) ossify at the {{c1::eighth}} embryonic week |
