Answer Minor calyx - surround the tips of the renal pyramids. Calyx = chambers within the kidney that carry urine. Urine passes from pyramid, through renal papilla (at apex) --> minor calyx.2-3 minor calyces converge to form major calyx --> renal pelvis --> ureter
