Kanji elements (radicals) for Kaishi 1.5k

Disclaimer: This deck is intended to be used in parallel with Kaishi 1.5k. The deck is a heavily modified version of this deck.

The main purpose of this deck is to make studying your first kanji easier by understanding what they're made up from. I am calling them elements here because the deck doesn't represent an official radical list, even though many of the cards are indeed existing radicals. Some other ones are not though.

Each card specifies at which Kaishi card it's first found, so you can use that as a reference for what pace to learn them at. Don't get overwhelmed because of how many elements there are at the beginning of your learning, just after first 250 Kaishi cards you'll already go through half of all the existing elements, and after that the learning becomes exponentially easier and easier.

The deck contains 269 elements, from which 245 can be found in Kaishi words and the other 24 are those which you will happen to see in other future kanji from the Jouyou list. The elements marked with ★ are regularly used kanji themselves. The "[fict.]" mark in some elements means that it doesn't have any proper meaning, so I'm coming up with them myself based on what the characters look like to me to make them easier to remember. The deck doesn't include readings because they won't benefit you in any way basically ever and are a total mess to learn to be honest.

My main advice would be to not get too overworked about remembering the meanings of the elements when studying, it will sure help to know them since you could then come up with some mnemonics when seeing a new kanji, but simply recognizing that such element exists and you've already seen it in other places will already help you to remember words better.
