| Front | What is colorimetry? |
| Back | A colourimeter works by shining light through a sample and can measure how much light is transmitted through it. The more concentrated the colour of the solution, the greater the absorbance of light by the solution and less transmission of light through the sample. Colorimeters are reset by filling the cuvettes with distilled water, they are then placed in the colorimeter. This recalibrates/ resets the reading giving a much more accurate result. Cuvettes are held on the ridged sides to avoid greasy fingerprints affecting results. |
