This deck contains:
- The regions (states, territories, Bundesländer etc.) and capitals of the US, Canada, Spain, France, Germany, Italy, UK and Australia.
- The largest cities by population in each country, and also some smaller ones that are well known. Around 60 cities for the US and between 10 and 20
for the other nations.
- Major rivers and lakes in these countries.
- Some extra information. (The official nickname of the US states, which major cities the rivers flow through etc.)
Each country has its own note type, so that if someone doesn't want to do a specific country, it is easy to discard those cards.

Much of the information (but not all) in this deck is already available here somewhere on the site. However, I wanted to put together a deck that is thorough enough to cover the basic geography of all of the major Western nations.
Obviously you can always argue about what should be included in such a deck, and the decisions will, of necessity, be somewhat arbitrary.
For example: I do not consider the ceremonial counties of England to be as relevant as, say, the autonomous regions of Spain. (There are many of them and they are not that famous.) But since some of them are very well known (e.g. Cornwall), I felt that at least they should be included, and then I decided to add all of them for completeness. However, I made two different card types. One for those that I, as a non-British, consider well known, and one for the rest, so that it would be easy to discard the less well known if someone doesn't want to do them.
You can't please everyone with these types of decisions, but I hope that the deck should be useful in general. :-)
Happy learning!
