NB Deck restructured 28 February 2024. If you have downloaded the deck, please delete your initial download and download and import this new one. I do not envision the structure changing again, so any further updates can just be imported over the top of the extant deck.
This deck has a group of subdecks. It has been structured in this way, to make studying the different part of the subject easier. If you wish to study them all at once, study at the level of the parent deck.
All required fonts for Byzantine Music symbols are included, including fonts for the Greek and Arabic text.
Several note types included in the one deck.
This deck lists all the neumes (symbols) required to write Byzantine music and gives their names in English, Greek, and Arabic (where available). They are described in terms of duration, number of steps in raising or lowering the pitch, vocal ornamentation, etc.
This deck will help you remember how to read, write, and interpret Byzantine Music.
The various scales contain additional details, including their tetrachords, moria (divisions of an octave), and martyriæ (Byzantine musical key signatures), etc.
The fonts used in displaying the neumes (symbols) of Byzantine music are those developed by St Anthony's Monastery.
