Essential German for English Speakers

Language/English
- Updated 8/26/16 - Improved templates This high-quality deck contains over 600 of the most frequently used German words, including pictures, audio, IPA, gender, English translations, and plural forms. A fully-equipped Anki deck like this is a significant time investment to create (20+ hours), and it's my wistful dream of mine that there should be a near-perfect Anki deck for each language, and this is my helpful start. My eventual long (long) term goal is to reach 2000 vocabulary cards. Check back every couple months for better card templates, corrections, and additional cards. This deck contains no grammar, so it's equally useful for beginners and advanced students. If this deck ends up being useful, please consider giving it a starred rating to help others find us. IF YOU FIND ANY ERRORS, please email me at [email protected], or list in a review below, and I'll correct them for everyone. --- Note: If you'd like to add a dedicated gender- or plural- testing card to your deck, I've included some basic templates and instructions. Just search for "README" in the Anki browser. --- If you're unfamiliar with German IPA (International Phonetic Alphabet), I highly, highly recommend you watch Fluent Forever's pronunciation videos: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mzrLZi6fipA The same person sells beautiful Anki decks that teach you spelling and pronunciation rules: https://fluent-forever.com/product/fluent-forever-pronunciation-trainer/ I have no affiliation, I just think they're outstanding decks. Finally, for listening practice, I'm a big fan of Yabla. https://german.yabla.com/ ---
