Pimsleur's Mandarin 1 (English)

This flashcard set contains the vocabulary words from Pimsleur's Mandarin Chinese 1. This set is meant to supplement, not stand in place of, one's vocabulary in Pimsleur's Mandarin 1. A brief note on how to use this set: Many characters in Mandarin have multiple meanings and usages. For many cards, I have elected to include some alternative meanings underneath the one you're familiar with from the Pimsleur's audio track, either because you'll encounter them in a later Pimsleur course, or because you'll find these words used frequently in other contexts. The Pimsleur definitions are always in black and the extra definitions are in red. You may find it most effective to ignore the definitions in red and focus only on the definitions from Pimsleur's course until you're especially comfortable with the vocabulary. Disclaimer: The format for all of these cards gives you the definition and asks you to draw the word from your memory. There are no audio files or visual aids, but there are color-coded simplified characters and pinyin for each word/phrase. Corresponding measure words are also included with all nouns. Should you feel the need to simplify, expand, or reverse the language on the cards, you should take the liberty to do so. I use these cards to reinforce the vocabulary I learned in Mandarin 1 as I continue through Mandarin 4. I hope this set serves you well. Cheers, Driftwood
