Front Himalayan Gold 
Back a caterpillar fungus that has become extremely popular in recent decades surpassing all other species in terms of revenue It is a fungal parasite of caterpillars that belongs to the ghost mouth. It is endemic to the Tibetan plateau including adjoining high Himalaya. It is locally known as Kira Jari. In Indian Himalayas the species has been documented in the region from the alpine meadows of protected areas such as Nanda Devi Biosphere Reserve, Askot Wildlife Sanctuary, Kanchengdzonga Biosphere Reserve and Dehan Debang Biosphere Reserve. The illegal nature of the trade coupled with rampant overexploitation, severely threatens the survival and sustenance of this unique resource.
