Princeton Russian Dialogues

Language/Russian

Dialogues and sentences from the Princeton Russian Course, obtained from cytrussian.tuxfamily.org

Notes types:

Dialogues

like FSI.dialog.parallel

Full dialogues of lessons in parallel text layout. These cards look best on large resolutions. To keep everything in view, you can: zoom out (ctrl+mousewheeldown), break sentences into new lines, or apply word wrap by changing white-space: nowrap to white-space: normal in styling (though the translation will likely not line up due to different sentence lengths).

Enable replay buttons in 'Preferences > Review > ☑ Show play buttons on cards with audio' to replay each individual sentence.

Smaller screen resolutions (mobile portrait orientation) will be in stacked column view with wrapped text.

Contains a vocabulary table and (sometimes)notes from the textbook. The explanations are from the text pdf not me :)

These are long cards — they can be suspended and used as reference or deeper learning in the Anki browser.

Sentences

like Assimil

Individual sentences from Course 1+2 dialogues and practice sentences in Course 3.

If a sentence is confusing, please refer to the Dialogue card for context :)

Drills

like FSI-Replacement

I started making drill cards for a couple lessons then realized it was going to be a massive undertaking because:

  • every drill is different, unlike FSI
  • answers are not included in the textbook
  • word order is flexible in Russian

The ones I did do I checked and rechecked for errors and also ran the sound files through whisper. feel free to skip the drills though – Russian grammar can be difficult :|

Mistakes: There are a lot of mistakes in the pdf - missing text, text not spoken, wrong text. I fixed what I could but there may be more, especially in the drill cards that I made myself.
