Best Intermediate Spanish Deck

Language/Spanish
This is IT! I have been working on this deck for four years? five years? Anyway a long time so I’m pretty proud of it. I wanted to share it because I hate all these other decks that charge an arm and a leg for decks that aren’t that good. Also, depending on when you’re reading this, you might have a bunch of time on their hands and now might be a great time to start improving your Spanish. Here’s the deal: this is an Intermediate deck. I made this deck after I learned (almost) all Spanish grammar. There are a few grammar cards in there but not many. It’s also a Spanish to Spanish deck. I only put English on the card in cases where I really couldn’t define the word practically in Spanish or used English as a mnemonic. So this should not be your first Spanish deck. Beginner decks are very easy to come by. In the beginning, most of the cards are picture cards but later on they’re exclusively sentence cards. Every card is reversed, almost every card has sound of a real Spanish speaker from Forvo speaking the word (sometimes it’s a robot reading the sentence but very rarely), every card has an image to help with retention. You should probably reset the reviews before you start. These cards are primarily the top 5000 words in Spanish. HOWEVER! These are the non-intuitive words. So any word which is very close to the English word in Spanish is not in this deck. There are a few exceptions, words that seem really similar but only in retrospect (ex. “trono” = throne), that I included but for the most part, if you don’t realize that adjetivo = adjective, then you should probably brush up on your English vocab. This means that this is the top 5000 words (minus the basic words) that you really NEED. I also kept adding to the deck for more than a year so there are a bunch of advanced words, too. When I started this deck I had just finished a book on memory (“Moonwalking with Einstein”) that emphasized that taboo or sexual images are more likely to stick in ones memory. Soooo, I am warning you that some of these cards, especially the earlier ones are a little sexy from a heterosexual man’s perspective. Nothing pornographic, mind you, but something to be aware of. If you have a problem with this, feel free to change the images once you download the deck or not use this deck. Frankly, though, for the most part, this hypothesis did make many words stick more firmly in my mind thanks to these images. In addition, I’m pretty liberal so on occasion, for the few cards that are about political words, I use images of some familiar American politicians. If you don’t agree with my viewpoint, again, just change the images of the cards. Finally, because this was my private deck, there are some notes to myself that will be meaningless to you. Feel free to ignore these notes as well. I did not want to take the time to comb through every single card to eliminate these notes. If the mnemonics I put down help you as well, even better. Anyway, I hope you enjoy this deck. Maybe it will help you to achieve a higher level of Spanish a little easier and a little faster.
