Front How is high pressure formed ?
Back Warm air rises due to being heated by the sun so it is less dense. As it rises it becomes colder due to it being a higher altitude and is pushed aside. The air sinks (300 N/S of the equator lines of latitude) it creates high pressure. As the cool air sinks it becomes hotter so no water condenses creating clear skies with little percipitation and arid (dry) conditions such as deserts.
