Answer - Captive population always likely to have a limited genetic diversity.- The animals can be exposed to a wide range of different diseases.- The organisms are living outside their natural habitat.- Nutritional issues can be difficult to manage.- Animals may not behave as normal, and reproduction may be difficult.- The correct environmental conditions for survival may be difficult to achieve.- It may be expensive to maintain suitable environmental conditions.- Even if reproduction is successful, the animals have to survive reintroduction to the wild, where they need to find food and survive predation.- When reintroduced, there can also be difficulties with acceptance by the existing wild members.

Answer - Small organisms have a larger surface area to volume ratio.- For each gram of tissue in their body, there is a sufficient body surface area for exchange to occur to supply adequate oxygen and nutrients.- Larger animals; smaller SA:V.- Each gram of tissue has a smaller body surface area for exchange.
