Mr Moffat's P2a Circuits

Physics
Wowzers!! Seems like a lot, but when it starts to click you realise it's simply about knowing what current, resistance and potential difference are. How they relate to each other (Ohm's Law). How they apply to series and parallel circuits. And finally how some components don't follow Ohm's Law (bulbs/lamps, diodes, LDRs and thermisters). That's all folks. See you around and don't forget to thumbs up if you like. Decks with no reviews or negative reviews get taken down after a while. This isn't youtube; we don't do bad science. And after this lot, you won't do bad at science either.

Sample Data

Front What is this the symbol of?
Back Voltmeter

Front  What is an ammeter and how is it connected to a circuit?
Back An ammeter measures current - it is always connected in line with a component (otherwise known as in series)

Front How do burglar detectors use LDRs?
Back A light beam is shown at an LDR. If someone walks in front of it and breaks the light beam, the resistance of the LDR shoots up and an alarm is triggered.
