Sample Data

Front Describe the blood supply and venous drainage of the female mammary gland.
Back Blood supply:1) Branches of the Internal Thoracic artery (Subclavian Artery) supply the medial quadrants.2) Branches of the Lateral Thoracic Artery (Axillary Artery) contribute to the lateral quadrants.3) Pectoral branches from the Thoracoacromial Artery (Axillary Artery) also supply the lateral quadrants.4) Branches of the Anterior and Posterior Intercostal Arteries supply both the medial and lateral aspects.Venous Return: Veins accompany arteries = vena commutantes.  Most of the venous return is to the Axillary and Subclavian veins.  Both blood and Venuous drainage return to the Vertebral Venous Plexus via the Azygous System (valveless).  Clinically important for possible spread of malignancy to the spinal cord.
