Hebrew Vocabulary from Basics of Biblical Hebrew

Language/Hebrew

Updated 2025-06-20.

The vocabulary from all chapters of Basics of Biblical Hebrew: Grammar, 2nd edition (Practico & van Pelt).

Vocabulary courtesy of Paul Denisowski, with some corrections.

The Hebrew text has been updated so that the IPA reflects Oriental Hebrew pronunciation, which is closer to what is estimated to be the pronunciation of Biblical Hebrew. There is also a transcription to the Society of Biblical Literature's (SBL) Academic style for those that do not understand IPA. The SBL Hebrew font has been included.

I recommend using this vocabulary in the order added. It has been tagged according to chapter to make it easy to create filtered decks for focused study.
