A Frequency Dictionary of German is an invaluable tool for all learners of German and contains the 5,000 most commonly used words of German today.

While it's excellent for beginners, intermediate and even advanced learners can benefit from reviewing and expanding their knowledge of high-frequency words and collocations they might be overlooking.

This German frequency dictionary is intended to be used as a learning tool in conjunction with other learning tools, i.e. a good German/English dictionary, a good textbook, and other support material that can be helpful for learning German.

• Find them in the index of your textbook and see how they are used there.

• Develop a small corpus of your own using Internet material and find the words there as they are used in authentic contexts.

As you achieve mastery in more and more of the words in the dictionary, the better you will be able to understand and speak the German language.
