Sample Data

Front What is the Equation for Enthalpy of Reaction, using Enthalpy of Formation?
Back ΔrH° = ∑ΔfH° (products) - ∑ΔfH° (reactants)
Front What are the positives and negatives of Water treatment with Chlorine?
Back Pros:-It kills disease-causing microorganisms.-Some Chlorine stays in the water and prevents reinfection downstream.-It prevents the growth of algae, eliminating discolouration, bad smells and tastes.Cons:-Chlorine Gas is very harmful and causes respiratory irritation if breathed in.-Chlorine can react with organic compounds to form Chlorinated Hydrocarbons which are carcinogenic.
Front What is the method for removing Sulfur Dioxide from being released into the atmosphere after Fossil Fuel burning?
Back You can remove Sulfur Dioxide impurities with a method called Wet Scrubbing, where you react the impurities with an Alkali. This can either be powdered Calcium Oxide or Calcium Carbonate. A slurry can be made by mixing both of the both with Water and spraying it at the flue gases, producing a product of Caclium Sulfite.
