| Back | Heat transfer via infrared radiation. The only heat transfer that can occur through a vacuum. IR radiation is absorbed and emitted easily by dull, dark surfaces and absorbed and emitted poorly by light, shiny surfaces. |

| Back | If more electricity flows through a fuse than it was designed for, the fuse heats up so much that it melts. This opens a gap in the circuit, which stops the flow of electricity and protects the more expensive components from damage. |
